Editor: With a steady increase in ’rubber tire’ visitors to BNP, parking should be on the Parks administration and Town of Banff agendas. When I moved to Banff in 1985, Calgary had a population of around 500,000. Now it is a million plus.

Editor, I believe the recent move of Canadian Tire to Canmore is an important one. It will enable us to compete with other rural areas through the expansion of the service sector and the commercialization of tourism.

Editor: The proposal is to add lines to the Veteran’s Park tennis court as required to accommodate four pickleball playing surfaces. Pickleball players would use portable nets so the existing tennis net would not be altered.

Editor: In her letter, Banff dog owners OK, Astrid Selimos tries to assure us that the average dog owner in Banff is “responsible and caring.

Editor: Yesterday I went cross-country skiing along the Banff to Jasper highway. At the first stop there was a trail closure sign due to a hibernating bear, however, two other groups skied past the sign.

Editor: Give up a tennis court for pickleball? You cannot be serious! I am a Grade 11 student from Canmore who started playing tennis a few years ago. My biggest problem has always been getting a court to play on.

Editor: With 3 1/2 million dogs living in Canada, it is safe to say that many Canadians love pets and that pets are a critical part of our lives. I myself am a self-proclaimed dog and animal lover – but no, I am not a dog owner.
