Don't paint dog owners with same brush

After reading K. Gaffney’s letter concerning ‘Dog owners not properly dealt with’, I think we should imprison anybody who has the audacity to own a dog and tread on a national park trail because, as he/she quotes from a Banff bylaw officer: “Dog owners are the worst people in the world to deal with.”

And then he/she asks: “Why is that?”... Let me suggest that perhaps dog owners are just getting even with the world for a failed upbringing. And if true, and it must be because the author has seen this, that “the only people (he/she) has seen with their dogs on leashes are the visitors,” then enact a law against dog owners sooner than later.

The author concludes by drawing on his/her experience as a backcountry horseback guide to clearly illustrate that indeed dog owners (not dog owners who have their dogs off leash but dog owners in general) are the worst people in the world.

I won’t go into all the my generalizations about horses and the havoc they have created on our sensitive ecosystem because then I would be breaching our topic of dog owners being the worst people to deal with in the world.

I hesitate to show these rocket science generalizations about dog owners to my wife because she will get madder than a pitbull.
