LETTER: What do Canmore home property assessments, the current off-site levy concerns of area residential building developers, and the vacancy tax have in common? In all cases, Town of Canmore administration believes it has been sharing information with its citizens and stakeholders when arguably it needs to be more open.

LETTER: By the mayor’s own admission, 26 per cent of Canmore’s residents are part-timers – so 26 per cent of Canmore’s population were not given a seat at the table and were not given a voice. That leaves me speechless – I have no words, but I get the message.

LETTER: If Canmore truly faces a housing crisis, the solution lies in thoughtful collaboration, not blanket policies that strain community ties. Livability is built through mutual respect, not adversarial policies. Mayor Krausert’s vision may aim to preserve Canmore’s character, but this tax could harm the very spirit he seeks to protect.

LETTER: The multiple letters to the editor and article “Canmore vacancy tax could bring in $9 million in 2025” in the Nov 28 edition of the Outlook spelled out some of the ongoing drama concerning Canmore’s new vacancy tax.
