The Canadian Rockies Public Schools school board unanimously passed the new COVID-19 vaccination policy that will begin Nov. 24 and see teachers, staff and adults entering school facilities show proof of vaccination or a recent negative test.

“Unless it’s piling up on the street, no one really cares about garbage. Many people think it goes in the bin, out to the curb and someone picks it up. That person doesn’t just take it home. It’s important to understand where your garbage and recycling go. When they understand what goes into waste management and they look at the SAEWA project and wonder why we’re not already doing it.”

The Chiniki Rodeo Grounds will be the site for two free drive-in movies, a pumpkin lantern festival and a costume contest. Gates will open to the grounds at 4 p.m., with Halloweentown showing at 5 p.m. and A Nightmare on Elm Street playing at 8 p.m.

“Since our body clock follows the sun and the sun is so delayed, it’s going to be really hard to get up and get out of bed and go to work in the morning,”  said Michael Antle, a circadian rhythm expert in Calgary.

While school boards are often overlooked at municipal elections, the Canmore ward – also known as Mount Rundle – for the Canadian Rockies Public Schools has four candidates aiming for two spots.

“I want to commend you on the work, the FCCSC (Family and Community Support Services Resource Centre) department, they’ve just done a great job and they have a really good understanding of the importance of the work and how important it is."

“This is a huge contributor, a huge generator of employment and economic activity. As we look as a province, it’s the kind of activity we want to encourage and sustainable, outdoor recreation seems to check a lot of those boxes."
