The rejected Three Sisters Village area structure plan will head to a provincial appeal after Three Sisters Mountain Village Properties Limited filed its paperwork Monday (Aug. 9).

“We want to thank the community for their support and patience as we worked through flushing and water quality testing to confirm the safety of the water over the past week. EPCOR and the Town of Canmore appreciate the community response and cooperation and would like to confirm everyone in the town can resume regular water use.”

“It’s an awesome number to reach, an exciting milestone on that trail,” said Daniella Rubeling, Parks Canada’s visitor experience manager for Banff National Park.

CANMORE – One week into the pandemic, Dan Roycroft and his Zone4 race timing business were essentially out of work.

“This development feels very much like a residential accommodation and the application is for visitor accommodation. The application is for the visitor accommodation and with the exception of the four variances, it does meet the land use bylaw requirements … I think we’re bound by the requirements of the land use bylaw.”

A judicial review was granted by the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta on the defeated Three Sisters Village area structure plan.

The majority of Canmore has either had their water safely tested or is in the process of being flushed since the boil water advisory was announced July 29.

“It's still under investigation. Our focus and priority in the last few days has really been public health protection and ensuring the quality of the water in the Canmore system. We isolated the pipe quickly on Thursday afternoon (July 29) and really focused on flushing and moving water that might have got into the system from that pipe and moving it out through the Canmore system and testing the water to make sure it is safe. Our priority is the safety of the drinking water for our customers.”
