If we don’t act now to bolster the ability of our young people to access post-secondary education, we risk negative economic and societal effects that will continue well into the future. While individual students enjoy the private returns of scholarship, society as a whole reaps the public rewards of wise investment in education.

The biggest concern was the structure type, with the original tower being a lattice design with antennas mounted in a flower formation. Based on the public feedback, a monopole structure was then proposed.

“The Town believes we should apply for intervenor status and be involved to make sure to represent the community in that project,”

“I do think it is important that it is looked at. We can’t allow more development if we don’t have water and wastewater availability for future growth. It is kind of putting the cart before the horse. We need to make sure we got that ability before we can add that growth into an MDP.”

“The budget reflects what we have been hearing from the public. We have been receiving requests for increased services around parks and recreation and solid waste and recycling. I do think there will be some support out there. A lot of it is for services that are being asked for.”

EDITORIAL: Public engagement can be excruciating, painful and frustrating. But at the same time, it’s absolutely necessary for major community projects to move forward.
