The Town of Banff is hosting walk-in vaccination clinics on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 to encourage more people to get their booster shots.

“This is reaching an awareness that I think could benefit by some immediate actions," said Coun. Ted Christensen.

“Seeing as there’s been zero input from the community — from residents, from developers, from people who are planning to develop – I think it’s safe to proceed with this change,” said Banff Councillor Barb Pelham.

“We have to remember that wildlife populations are always fluctuating and dynamic due to several different reasons.”

Avalanche experts say there have been several close calls reported recently, with many large avalanches running the full extent of their paths.

“This will allow us to fulfill our need for boots on the ground. This is an immediate concern," said Councillor Ted Christensen

“Paramedics treated and transported an adult male to the Mineral Springs Hospital in Banff where they were met by STARS air ambulance who then transported the patient to Foothills Medical Centre,” said Shane Paton, a spokesperson for Alberta EMS.

“I can accurately say that this is the most complex area redevelopment plan we’ve ever seen in the history of the Town of Banff,” said Darren Enns, the director of planning and development for the Town of Banff.
