"I believe it comes down to an issue of fairness," said Van Horne resident Russell Stanley during a recent public hearing. "The existing five homes were built with a 60-metre setback enforced by the Town. "Our understanding was that this was an environmental setback that would not change. We designed and built our home based on that." 

"Since the passing of this bylaw, council and administration have received immediate and significant feedback with respect to the tourist home zoning limitations," said Councillor Rob Seeley. "With a new more informed understanding of limiting the number to one tourist home unit, I advocate for further consideration."

"I am pleased to see some commercial development commencing on Silvertip lands. I think that is very important for moving forward with the delivery of the area structure plan."

"A lot of people are trying to sell right now, but that does not mean they will get what they want ... sellers have to be prepared to price it appropriately and be realistic," said MaxWell Capital Realtor Robb Aishford. "The Canmore market has always done its own thing."
