A tri-services building housing EMS, fire services – and new to Îyârhe Nakoda First Nation – a proposed hybrid of RCMP and Indigenous tribal police will be built in Mînî Thnî, the only question is where, and is it a change the community wants?

"One member of the group was partly buried and able to dig themselves out. The other member was fully buried and did not survive."

"The vehicle which contained the deceased is the same truck in the included picture," said RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Gina Slaney, in a media release. 

“The neighbours chose to shelter in place, and because the officers could position themselves between the suspect and any other people, it was felt unnecessary to have to do an evacuation."

An Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) investigation into whether Cochrane RCMP officers were negligent in the 2021 death of a Mînî Thnî infant found no fault on the part of responding officers.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating after human remains were found inside a vehicle at a trail head in Bow Valley Provincial Park Friday (Nov. 3).

“Mussels are a hugely important issue, but they’re kind of not sexy, and the dogs bring the wow factor.”

In the raid on the Silvertip home on Feb. 4, following an investigation that began in December 2022 of unlawful possession of a firearm, a search warrant was executed on the Silvertip home with the assistance of the RCMP Emergency Response Team.

“Everybody in Mînî Thnî now has access to 911 from a landline or from a mobile phone. No. 1 is it really does enhance the accessibility of the location information, which, in turn, facilitates a more rapid and effective response from emergency services.”
