A look at the past week in photography in the Bow Valley as it appeared in the pages of the Rocky Mountain Outlook.

“We obviously can’t mitigate the natural ignition sources like lightning, but the fire ban helps limit opportunities for human-caused ignitions and hopefully that makes a difference.”

“If the SAEWA project is successful, we will be able to reduce that distance by 50 per cent for many municipalities and also have the ability for municipalities to have long-term budgeting for municipal works based on a dependent tipping fee at a facility that they actually have some control over. We can come up with a long-term dependable solution with predictable economic costs as well as environmental benefits.”

“We don’t know enough of what that would entail and we know it would mean additional resources, but we don’t know right now what those resources would be because we have to take some time to research what the most effective and efficient way of delivering the pass program regionally would be.”

“We’ve been getting a lot of positive feedback from the cycling experience from people the last year-and-a-half. We’ve also been getting feedback from people who really love the scenic drive and want access to those day areas."

PHOTOS: The last week in the Bow Valley had the province fully reopen from public health restrictions, which saw businesses fully reopen and tourists come en masse to the mountain communities.

“High school is a long road and this year especially was pretty challenging. It is rewarding to be recognized by my teachers for the hard work I put in. And the financial award will really help with my university expenses next year.”

“Grassroots groups and food support organizations rely on the Bow Valley Food Alliance to help them coordinate and connect. This donation will help us focus on what matters most – improving food security and food sovereignty in the Bow Valley.

“The big advantage we have is the municipalities collaborate very well. Banff, Canmore and Improvement District No. 9 all want to make transit better, so people can move around the valley without having to either own a vehicle or use their vehicle. You don’t typically see this kind of collaboration.”

“The intention of this report is to provide means for agencies and leadership to determine their community’s needs, as well as the necessary responses and potential avenues to prevent or reduce homelessness and housing instability in the Bow Valley."
