Wildfire damage poses a major threat to many communities in western Canada. This is not a new notion to those living in the Bow Valley, nor are those concerns taken lightly.

“The wildfire did not grow overnight, showing minimal fire behaviour. The crews are making progress with pumps and helicopter bucketing.”

Alberta Wildfire’s map indicates the fire was detected about 8:20 p.m., in an area south of Hogarth Lakes and north-east of Burstall Lakes off the Smith-Dorrien Highway.
