The Business Recovery Task Force will be comprised of two elected officials, eight members of the public, including representatives from groups like Travel Alberta and Tourism Canmore Kananaskis. The Tourism Task Force will be comprised of two members of council and 16 representatives from the community.

Canmore Councillor Esmé Comfort battled her third cancer diagnosis earlier this year with radiation and chemotherapy treatment. The good news is that she is now cancer free – however a fracture to her spine has resulted in a six-month leave of absence to focus on her health and recovery.

Former Canmore accountant James "Russ" Neilson was also ordered to pay $1.6 million back to his victims and if he doesn't, he faces another five years in prison
