There are officially two contenders running to become the next mayor of Canmore in the upcoming fall municipal election.

The months of December through March see some of the highest cougar activity as more elk and deer congregate closer to town.

Residents of Cascade House in Banff received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Monday (Jan. 11) and residents of the Bow River Seniors Lodge in Canmore are scheduled for immunization on Wednesday (Jan. 13).

“We’re doing all the appropriate measures … obviously we want to keep everybody safe and we’re doing everything we absolutely can.”

“I don’t want to jump the gun. The numbers from the holidays have some uncertainty in them because of the low number of tests, and there’s a real risk of an increase due to the holidays."
