A marathon meeting on Monday (Nov. 30) saw Banff councillors divided on the need for tougher restrictions in Banff to help reduce the rapid spread of COVID-19 in the community

The Town of Banff's mandatory bylaw will include the entire length of Banff Avenue, including the Bow River Bridge, once it comes into effect on Thursday (Dec. 3) at noon

“If people know that they have an animal that’s deemed a vicious animal because it’s had incidents with wildlife, that they had to be paying this $500 annual fee, rather than a $300 annual fee, it will be an incentive to be extra cautious with their interactions.”

A COVID-19 testing site for the general public will open in the south parking lot at the provincial health building in Banff on Friday (Dec. 4), and an isolation centre is expected to open as early as Monday (Nov. 30)
