Miranda Rosin, the MLA for Banff-Kananaskis, was one of 16 UCP elected officials who signed a letter in opposition to the recently announced provincial public health restrictions.

“At this stage of the investigation, there is no identified single event or cause for this increase in cases,” said Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta's chief medical officer of health

“At this point in time, we are not recommending precautionary COVID testing for anyone who has visited or skied in the Banff-Canmore area recently,” said Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta's chief medical officer of health.

"The RCMP do not suspect that this incident involved foul play."

“We have been told by the province that if requests for space exceeds our capacity, people would need to isolate at available isolation facilities in Calgary.”

The Global Water Futures program recently celebrated World Water Day on March 22. Locally, researchers from the University of Saskatchewan have also created a highly accurate computer model of the snowpack in the Bow Valley, which should lead to better management of water as a resource in the prairie provinces.

Five elk that fell though the ice in the past few days have been plucked to safety by Banff wildlife conservation officers; however, one had to be euthanized despite staff working through the night to try to save her.

“We have an opportunity to show the world that we do things differently in Banff and that we're getting on board with these types of solutions."
