“We all realize that policing, for many reasons, has been at the forefront, with very active and important discussion in our community and society throughout North America and throughout the world,” said Staff Sgt. Mike Buxton-Carr.

“It is anticipated our review will take several weeks and include comments from Municipal Planning Commission, Banff Heritage Corporation and Banff town council,” said Town Manager Kelly Gibson in an emailed statement.

"I think this common ground of the land we live on and the time that we spend outside shapes who we are, not only as individuals but as Canadians.”

"I am really grateful we were not an organization that had just excitedly completed a strategic plan in February, 2020, because we would have had to somewhat rip it up and start over." 

“One of those challenges will be too many people wanting to use the bus. I think this gives us a great opportunity to try the reservation system and determine if it is viable for our transit services, primarily our regional type services."

“While it’s no secret that the pandemic has affected the outlook of people far and wide, those working in hospitality have been hit especially hard," said Wanda Bogdane with the Banff Lake Louise Hospitality Association. "If these numbers hold true, it means that nearly every person you interact with in Banff National Park is facing enduring sadness or distress. That’s a big deal.”
