Editor: It was Sunday night, probably around 6:30 p.m., when my girlfriend and I were on our way home from a New Year’s trip to Jasper. On our whole trip we were fortunate enough to see a total of 12 wolves from three different families.

Editor: Charges need to be laid against the owner of the off-leash dog in Banff that chased a deer to its death. Also in the case of the two photographers suspected of using food to bait wolves along the Bow Valley Parkway.

Editor: Having fun in the outdoors and having respect for our wild neighbours are two completely different things.

Editor: I am writing to you in response to your article about an incident on Jan. 5, 2014 in Banff National Park about photographers being suspected of baiting wolves with meat in order to get photographs.

Editor: According to Parks employee Steve Michel, a wolf was seen feeding on a “substantial amount of food. It appears to have been intentionally placed … for baiting wildlife.

Editor: The consternation about the deaths of two Bow Valley cougars two weeks ago is slowly fading.

Editor: Re: MD of Bighorn Land Exchange Proposal The Dec. 19, 2013 edition of the Outlook carried an article titled: G8 Legacy manager urges MD to return to table (pg. 30).

Editor: It doesn’t matter who you speak to. Whether talking to a local or a visitor, eventually the conversation circles around to the treacherous streets of Banff and the lack of snow removal.

Editor: After reading the article Celebrity Bears, one can only conclude that Timothy Treadwell is alive and living in Banff.

Editor: Irene Brautigan’s lament about the lack of economic forecast in the Town of Canmore may contain some valid points but it includes a fundamentally false assumption.
