Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 55-year-old man that occurred on Îyârhe (Stoney) Nakoda First Nation last month as a homicide.

It was music to the ears of many in the Îyârhe Nakoda community, hearing their native tongue on the airwaves alongside star songsters of the ‘70s and ‘80s, like Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton and George Strait.

“And then as a result, missed appointments harm patients – both those who missed their appointment, but also those who aren’t seen because of the spot that’s been taken and having to wait longer to be seen.”

Cochrane RCMP reported Friday morning (Sept. 29) that Shanelle Jimmy has been found safe.
