UPDATE: Trans-Canada clear after semi blocked lane near Stoney Nakoda

RCMP officers are on scene redirecting traffic and expect delays to continue until the trailer is removed.

UPDATE: Cochrane RCMP advise the semi and trailer have been removed as of around 9:30 p.m. (April 10). The highway is now clear and all lanes have re-opened.

ORIGINAL STORY:

ÎYÂRHE NAKODA – Eastbound traffic on the Trans-Canada Highway, just west of Stoney Nakoda First Nation, is reduced to one lane due to a tractor trailer blocking the road.

RCMP officers are on scene redirecting traffic and expect delays to continue until the trailer is removed.

"It is recommended that drivers bypass the area using the Mînî Thnî road exit or avoid the area until it can be cleared," reads the RCMP media release.

No injuries are being reported by RCMP at this time. An update is expected once the road is clear.
