Voters in the Bow Valley had their chance to hear from local candidates in the lead-up to the Sept. 20 federal election.

“I have worked with almost all of the major parties, both provincially and federally. What is concerning to me is the disconnect between the bureaucracies of government and the political platforms and policies people hear during election time.”

A working group of landowners in the area of the Lower Silvertip wildlife corridor will be created to develop an approach moving forward in managing the corridor.

“There are a lot of options and there’s a lot of ways that could potentially make it better one way or the other, but with all those you can also have different consequences. I think it is the right decision to let this go for now and let the next council take a stab at it and hopefully have some good ideas and have things figured out. It’s a tricky situation.”

The Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon, 10 km and 5 km is celebrating its return from COVID-19 in style.

“When it comes to visitor accommodation or other multi-unit developments there’s been a concern about there not being enough parking and part of the flex we’re in right now is we’re trying to change people’s behaviour and get them to a place where they’re using active modes of transportation. There’s going to be a bit of an uncomfortable period where new developments have less parking, but it’s ultimately to encourage that mode shift to active modes of transportation.”
