The development is not taxpayer funded, but rather based on a cost-recovery model whereby the $11.3 million will be paid back through the sale of the units when built

The new funding, known as the Municipal Operating Support Transfer (MOST), comes in three separate funding envelopes – $414,747 for transit, $903,674 for general operating and $4.69 million related to tourism –  for a total of just over $6 million

“If you live in Banff, the process would be to register your licence plate once a year and then you’d be eligible to park anywhere in the residential parking permit zone, as well as for those three hours downtown."

“They are effectively unprotected and subjected to high risks of mortality from hunting and trapping outside the park boundaries, and even highway and railway mortality inside Banff National Park.”

For opening day, Mt. Norquay will be operating the Cascade Chair, with the Cascade Lodge accessible to guests
