With Councillor Chip Olver the deciding vote, council has voted 4-3 to boost mayor and council wages based on the recommendations of an independent public council remuneration review committee.

“The key is really to get ahead of that and right that behaviour so they don’t get overly habituated,” said Dan Rafla, a human-wildlife management specialist with Banff National Park.

Those with family in the Old Banff Cemetery, or community volunteers, are able to take part in the project to preserve the historic headstones over the next two weekends.

“I love my town, I love my community and I want to ensure that I continue to contribute to this place I love,” said Stavros Karlos, who grew up in Banff.

“With the destination now decidedly moving towards reopening for summer, we are looking to the Town of Banff to amplify our messages and join us in turning the page to welcome visitors back to safely experience the destination,” said Darren Reeder, executive director with the Banff and Lake Louise Hospitality Association.

“Because the numbers were growing so quickly over the weekend … We made a decision for everyone to go online for both the safety of the students and staff."

“It’s not just about looking at achievement, but looking at the whole child which is part of the CRPS vision. We look at wellness, mental health along with academics and ensuring we’re providing supports students need. It’s the whole child approach."
