Editor: “We will remember them.” This is the promise our nation’s servicemen and women make to their fallen comrades. It is a promise they keep every day, and a pledge Canadians fulfill annually on Nov. 11.

Editor: Why do we need to have grass in the highway ditches right up to the pavement edge? For numerous years we’ve lived with unseeded roadside while they twinned the highway to Lake Louise.

Editor: A clear consensus emerged from the 2012 international AIDS conference in Washington this summer. We can end AIDS. It is within our current scientific knowledge to do so. All that can stop us now is indecision and lack of courage.

Editor: We drove the length of Muskrat Street and concluded that the shining house at 230 would be on anyone’s list of the nicest places, and that the new white fence was the icing on the cake.

Editor: I would like to pass along a few recent thoughts from my spiritual teacher concerning politics and business deals with China. China is building up its power towards another almighty empire.
