LETTER: Letters seen as personal attack

LETTER: When you can’t attack the project you attack the person.
vox-populi

Editor:

Shame on Peter Poole for his cryptic December 7, 2023, and December 21, 2023 letters to the editor. Mr. Poole has hit new lows in an effort to confuse our community and disparage my family’s reputation.

His Dec. 7, 2023 letter suggests my family has been sending our monthly rent cheque to the wrong landlord. Perhaps Mr. Poole should forward his allegation of a dispute regarding the private use of public lands to CP Rail for clarification. I’m sure they would be delighted to educate him on our constitution and private property rights.

The Dec. 21, 2023 letter is a zinger and links a deeply disheartening Banff Centre board dispute with a dated architectural drawing of a gondola linking Banff Centre and the Banff train station. He asks “how are they connected?”, “It’s subtle,” he says. No doubt, an innuendo on character — my family’s character, of course. This ad hominem fallacy is simply breathtaking.

When you can’t attack the project you attack the person.

 Jan Waterous,

Banff
