One of the reasons that Kenney was elected may have been his campaign promise of ridding Alberta of its deficit.
I'm not sure if anyone expected him to do it all in one year (oil and gas woes and pandemic excluded).
In doing so, he is dismantling core values of a public health system, public education, access to public parks, seniors benefits, aid to those with disabilities-things that set us apart, things that as an Albertan I was proud of.
Creating endless committees laden with everyone so leaning to the right that they nearly fall over, and in turn, of course supports the agenda that he gives them.
The committees or panels or whatever else he creates all lack a balance so obvious that democracy becomes obscured.
Yes, he was elected and formed a majority government, but that does not mean that he no longer has to have the ear of the people.
He is creating a schism so deep it may become irreparable.
He has so much disdain for physicians he now calls them a interest group. He puts limits on debates in the house and he thinks he can wear down the opposition party by creating bills that have bills within bills, so many at times that he hopes to just slide them in without being noticed.
Well I have a solution, call a snap election this fall. Preferably before the one down south. Let's see if this is really what Albertans want.
