Keep off muddy trails

Hey hikers and bikers – it’s time to show the trails a little respect and love.

Until the frost is out of the ground, please restrict your trail excursions to hardened surfaces. If you must be on the singletracks, then go only when they are frozen.

I know everyone is jonesing for a trail fix, but the abuse being heaped on the muddy trails is simply unacceptable. I’m talking about footprints five-10 centimetres deep in the mud and bike tire tracks 10 cm deep that go on for 50 metres or more.

You know who who you are and we all know that you are unlikely to come back to repair the mess you have made.

Let me repeat – being on muddy trails is unacceptable, keep off them until they dry out.
