To the great community of Canmore.

Stacey Murphy married the love of her life Brent Dedels in September 2011 in the beautiful surroundings of the mountains, at the Quarry – it was an awesome day to remember.

Stacey, Brent and her son Bradly set out on the journey of life together and now they are expecting an addition to their family in August 2012.

Tragically, two weeks ago, Stacey was rushed to hospital, diagnosed with a brain aneurysm and operated on that very night – she is now fighting her way back to Brent, Bradly and all of us. We are holding our breath and praying for full recovery, but it is going to be an extremely long, hard, rehabilitation.

I am appealing to the generosity of the community to help this devastated family. I hope that you can see it in your hearts to come forward with some kind of donation, either by way of a silent auction item or, maybe some delicious home baking for the ‘Stacey’s Day’, silent auction and bake sale which will be held on Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the Canmore Seniors Centre.

If you wish to contribute to the silent auction, bake sale, or just volunteer your time to pick up auction items, distribute letters and posters or help out at the auction on the day, please contact me by email at [email protected]

Alternatively, if baking is not your thing, you may wish to make a cash donation which can be done at any Royal Bank Branch in Calgary, Cochrane and Canmore, as an account has been opened in the names of Stacey Murphy & Brent Dedels. Please note these are personal donations and tax receipts will not be applicable.

I have lived in Canmore for 20 years and know how our generous community can come together. I also know Stacey and Brent love living in Canmore and have done so for many years. I feel we are blessed to be here and appreciate that these beautiful mountains have healing power. I hope you can help this family get through these tragic circumstances so that we may once more see Stacey hiking or running along the local trails as she loves to do.

May your creator bless and keep you healthy and happy.
