I’m not necessarily a numbers guy, but I understand these.
In 2007, we sent off Mr. Gene Kiviaho after 10 months of ‘work’ (really?) with the sum of $219,053.00 (nice work if you can grab it and run!).
Then in 2008 we got a new guy, Mr. Don Kochan; hell, we even gave him a new Jetta, and then gave him $400,000 for his walk away!
And then we pay our mayor double the salary of Banff’s mayor. He is now to be part of the big PC trough in Edmonton (note the bonuses for walk away in Edmonton are huge, $15 million at last count).
And to top it off we hire a consultant to find us a new CAO, (cost not mentioned… yet!).
And to further top off all these brilliant decisions by council, they whack us with a 2.3 per cent tax increase in a town where we pay too much already.
Are we all so complacent? Is everyone just making so much money they fall asleep happy? This is BS people. Make some noise.
