The provincial election on April 23 is one of our most important yet.

There is much to admire about our premier, Alison Redford. However, she only received 19 per cent of her party members’ vote on the first ballot and became premier via the same flawed process as Ed Stelmach.

Ms. Redford has not been able to convince her caucus members to return allowances for sitting on the “do-nothing committee.” Calgary Herald editorial page editor Licia Corbella reported that PC MLAs are annoyed she didn’t call an election immediately after being elected when the PCs would have won 70 seat.

There is talk of a hostile leadership review in 2013. You may like Alison, but do you want the rest of her party elected again?

Liberals don’t expect to form a majority government, but they would play an important role in a minority government. Banff-Cochrane is the rural constituencey that has the best chance of electing a progressive MLA.

Make your vote count this time.
