As a resident of Banff for over 33 years, I am writing to express my support for the Railway Lands area redevelopment plan. This transformative initiative presents an invaluable opportunity to enhance both the resident and visitor experience in the town and throughout the park.

The existing intercept parking lot has been a resounding success, and I believe that building upon this is crucial. By further reducing the number of cars on our main roads and residential streets, we can significantly alleviate congestion, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance safety for both pedestrians and motorists.

It is clear people will continue to flock to Banff, and it is incumbent upon us to ensure that their arrival and stay are managed efficiently and sustainably. By embracing innovative people-moving and handling models, we can set a standard for excellence that will enhance our community and the national park.

We have discussed the need for initiatives like this for decades, and now is our chance to address the numerous challenges facing Banff. By moving forward with the Railway Lands area redevelopment plan, we can affect meaningful, generational change that will benefit our town for years to come.
