The Harper government just turned its back on local restauranteurs by making a knee jerk decision to halt the Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW) program.
Worse, instead of admitting it poorly designed the program and did not enforce its rules adequately, the Harper government is trying to blame the entire food service sector.
At a time when our businesses are ramping up for the tourism season and struggling to fill positions, our local economy cannot afford such poorly thought out decisions with no warning.
I am curious how our local member of parliament will defend this one.
