Joy Evelyn Schellenberg

April 22, 1951 – May 10, 2023
The Schellenberg family is sad to announce the passing of Joy Schellenberg in Canmore after a 10 year battle with cancer. Joy was born in North Vancouver, B.C and grew up in a loving home alongside her two sisters, two brothers and parents, Oliver and Phyllis Holmes. Joy was a caring mother to Marni, Kenneth, Zoe and Benjamin and loving wife to David together for over 40 years.
Joy loved to travel and do missionary work abroad. She took two teams of volunteers to Guatemala and a nursing volunteer team to Malawi, Africa. She, with her husband and three of her children, worked in Malawi, Africa for a year.
Her family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Canmore Hospital, the doctors, nurses and staff for their incredible care of Joy over the years and in her final days. Your kindness and skilled care made a significant impact during many difficult days.
An open house Celebration of Life will be held at the cottage she shared with her husband on Saturday, May 27 between 4:00 and 7:00 PM.
