The armed robbery of Fergie’s Convenience Store this spring is the subject of a Crime Stoppers re-enactment being filmed in Canmore this week.

On May 5 at approximately 11 p.m. local RCMP responded to the armed robbery on Cougar Creek Drive at the store. The store clerk complied with the demands and the unknown male fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

Sgt. Ryan Currie said RCMP hope that bringing Crime Stoppers in for a commercial re-enactment will help solve this crime.

“It was a robbery where there was a firearm or a replica firearm involved in it and I think because also too the investigation hasn’t turned up very many leads at this point, so Crime Stoppers really helps just getting it out there in the public and trying to get the public to help,” Currie said.

The possibility of a reward and remaining anonymous may also encourage a member of the public with information come forward.

The suspect is described as male, five-foot-four (163 cm) to five-foot-eight (173 cm) tall, slight to medium build and he was wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweater.

Those with information can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, crimestopers.ab.ca, or text 274637.
