Video: Ten vehicles, including semi's crash on Saskatchewan highway

One person was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in a ten vehicle crash on a highway near Estevan.

ROULEAU — The RCMP is investigating after 10 vehicles were involved in an incident on Highway 39 south of Regina on Wednesday. 

According to a news release from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Milestone RCMP received a report of a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 39 northwest of Rouleau at approximately 8:10 a.m. 

Officers and local EMS responded immediately. Investigation determined two semis collided. Eight additional vehicles then collided with the semis.

The driver of one of the semis was taken to hospital with injuries described by the RCMP as serious in nature. Other drivers involved were treated on scene for injuries described as non-life threatening.

Due to the collision, Highway 39 was closed for several hours. Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan, the Moose Jaw RCMP and the White Butte RCMP assisted at the scene.

Milestone RCMP continue to investigate.

A video of the serious accident was posted on Facebook by Just Bins Waste Disposal user this morning. It shows that several semi trucks were involved and visibility was low at the time of the accident.
