Speeding vehicle discovered to have passenger with stab wound

RCMP in Bonnyville stop vehicle on way to hospital with passenger suffering from a stab wound to the neck.

BONNYVILLE, Alta. – During a traffic stop with a speeding motorist on the Town of Bonnyville’s main street, an RCMP member found that an occupant of the vehicle was suffering from a stab wound.

The speeding vehicle was pulled over just before 1 a.m. on Sept. 30.

“As soon as the vehicle came to a stop, a passenger exited holding his neck and informed the member he (had) just been stabbed and was on his way to the hospital,” states a media release from the Bonnyville RCMP detachment.

“The member quickly escorted the individual to the hospital,” continues the statement.

A subsequent criminal investigation alleges that a 35-year-old man from Kehewin Cree Nation was responsible for stabbing the victim.

An individual, who has not been identified by police, was located, arrested and released to appear in court on Nov. 1.

The 35-year-old man is facing one count of assault causing bodily harm.
