Man arrested at Northern Alberta oil lease site, charged with B&E

A 46-year-old man has been charged with breaking and entering, causing damage to property over $5,000 and being in possession of break-in instruments after police were called out to an oil lease site a few miles northwest of Bonnyville.

RCMP report there is an "unfolding event" happening in the North West quadrant of the city. The RCMP are asking residents to avoid the area.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with breaking and entering, causing damage to property over $5,000, and being in possession of break-in instruments after police were called out to an oil lease site a few miles northwest of Bonnyville on March 10.

Just before 7 p.m., Bonnyville RCMP received a report of a suspicious person at the oil lease site.

"Upon arrival, RCMP noted broken glass and located a suspect inside a building with wire all around him," according to information from RCMP. 

The suspect was arrested and found to be on a condition from a previous arrest.

Robert Woods of Bonnyville was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 19.
