BANFF – Mike Kelly has been named the new executive director of Banff & Lake Louise Hospitality Association, replacing Wanda Bogdane who is about to embark on some extended personal adventures.

Effective July 1, Kelly starts his new position, coming from a long career running member-based organizations in the sport of golf, as the former CEO for Golf Ontario for 17 years, and recently, the executive director for Southern California Golf Association.

“Though there were strong candidates, Mike’s leadership style and professional experience really stood out,” said Darren VanMackelbergh, BLLHA’s board president. “He will be a great fit for BLLHA and will offer a fresh perspective to the destination.”

Bogdane leaves after almost seven years with the organization, including through the COVID-19 pandemic.

She will be doing some long mountain bike trips over the summer and then returning to Nepal in the fall to trek.

“The initiatives she led will leave a long-lasting legacy,” said VanMackelbergh.
