Every day in my Canmore life, I hear more views on the pathway paving. What nonsense all this fuss is.

Paving a well-worn trail to make it more accessible and safer for all users in all seasons is a normal and sensible thing to do. And if it encourages more use, this is clearly a desirable result.

More pedestrians and cyclists – and fewer cars – is certainly the world we want. I live on this same pathway on a paved section and I love seeing how popular it is – it’s the reason I live on this side of Canmore.

A small petition doesn’t represent the community's view. I hope that, in time, the opponents see it as a beneficial improvement.

We are super fortunate to live in a town where people care so much. But it is now time to accept improvements that benefit the community.

Thank you, Town of Canmore. I would like to now call an end to this topic.

Tom Wanless,

Canmore
