It’s an absolute shame Lake Louise will likely lose the World Cup FIS races. This is a world class event with a storied history. It’s also an opportunity for Albertans and Bow Valley locals to get an up close and personal look at a sport with little coverage in Canada.

We should really be getting behind an event like this as so many other international ski destinations do, and fight to keep this and other winter sports features in our own backyard.

This is especially true of Lake Louise Ski Resort, which has benefited greatly from this event for decades, yet ownership seems to have little to say about keeping it – or at least not publicly.

Again, this is a real shame.
