“Honestly, I pinch myself every day that I am able to be a part of this,” says Amy referencing not only selling and servicing the top-rated, safe, and affordable e-bikes and accessories, but having a way to combine her passion for sustainable living and community focus in the town she loves.

She continues, “I officially became a member of the Pedego family in March of 2021, but the search for a location started last November.” She is grateful to commercial Realtor Shawn Biggings who helped find the ideal location, along with those that helped to renovate the space and build the bikes. “We designed and renovated the space and had bikes on the floor built for sale within a month!”

Pedego’s national success comes from its mandate to put people first and to partner with local owner/operators that are knowledgeable and passionate about the benefits of e-bikes. It’s all about matching each rider with their best solution, and providing local locations for e-bike service, parts, and accessories. Amy takes it one step further. She is authorized through  Call2Recycle® to retail, repair and recycle e-bike lithium batteries.

Pedego’s “no excuses customer care” includes a five-year warranty and quality guarantee. On-site mechanics ensure customers are looked after for the lifecycle of their e-bike – and beyond. At Pedego Canmore, mechanic Shayne Brooking is happy to keep your e-bike running smoothly.

The brand is well-known for its commitment to safety, which is one of the many reasons Amy fell in love with Pedego. “Lots of people haven’t been on a bike for years and then want to try an e-bike. For anyone without experience, I do a lot of training and soon will be offering courses. Pedego focuses on safety and quality, which is why all our helmets have MIPS technology,” she explains.

The Town of Canmore is focusing on bike-friendly initiatives and is one of just 13 locations in Canada to earn recognition (a Silver Award as a Bicycle-Friendly Community) by the Share the Road Cycling Coalition. Amy and her team are humbled and proud to be a part of this positive change and to be your partner on your eco-friendly, health-focused journey.

Although Pedego Canmore is new in town, the business has been welcomed with open arms. As a long-term local resident and someone that loves extreme sports – she was on Canada’s national windsurfing team and is a passionate for all sports, including mountain biking, dirt biking, kitesurfing, skiing, sledding and more – Amy is enjoying this transition to helping others find and enjoy local adventures while e-biking for commuting or pleasure.

“I’ve never owned an e-bike store and I won't pretend that I’m an expert, but with Shayne as the mechanic, robust dealer support from Pedego, and the others in the e-bike profession that I’m happy to learn from, I feel confident in the decision to align this path of my career with my desire to promote sustainable, healthy living while giving back to the town I love,” says Amy.

It’s the perfect alignment. The Pedego Canmore location has doubled down on – and is able to fulfill – e-bike orders despite high demand across the nation. They also have a full rental fleet, which offers visitors and locals a new adventure in the Canadian Rockies.

Amy concludes. “I’m very proud to retail and rent a top-quality product people are actively seeking and I’m incredibility grateful to my husband Dean Cushing, children Sullivan and Chancellor, parents Duncan and Sandy,  friends, Town, contractors – everyone that has been a part of making this dream come alive.”
