LETTER: I am writing to express my concern and dismay about the province’s decision to proceed with the Three Sisters Mountain Village development under an assessment that was done 32 years ago – a full generation ago.

“We will spend time examining this issue and finding ways to ensure we are creating the conditions and opportunities for families to stay in town and to thrive in town," Banff Mayor Corrie DiManno

“We want to cut as few trees as possible and our goal is to actually if we do cut a tree down, we’re going to plant two more on the property. We want to keep it as green as possible and make it as safe as possible.”

LETTER: In the Sept. 30, 2021, edition of the Outlook, Banff mayoral and council candidates in the municipal election were asked their views on continuing the Banff Avenue pedestrian zone and the takeover of the public realm for commercial purposes on an ongoing basis particularly given Banff’s federally legislated commercial development cap.

"As residents shared their perspectives on how to make Banff better, challenges were reviewed and one principal theme emerged was that community well-being is under threat."

Bow Valley Engage has asked the province to refer TSMVPL developments to an envionmental assessment.

EDITORIAL: One of the most polarizing topics in the Bow Valley is underutilized housing supply.

LETTER: Confiscating the property of the aptly named subclass is simply a wealth transfer scheme that will mostly benefit the administrative class and do very little to address the housing crisis.

Banff council has passed first reading of a bylaw to authorize the municipality to borrow $1.16 million from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities for the Clean Energy Improvement Program.
