COMMENTARY: It is a new year and a time of renewal. Many of us have made personal resolutions to eat healthier, produce less waste, and spend more time with family and friends.  But what about as a country – what can we, as Canadians, resolve to do better in 2023 and into the future?

“I don’t know if collecting another fresh set of data is vital. I am sure from a research perspective every season becomes more useful, but in terms of us finding solutions and starting the process of moving forward, we really need this information in the report to come back to us.”

“The taxpayers across the MD are going to be footing the bills for these facilities that they may not be using. Some of them could be upset to pay for something they don’t use, or live in an area where they wouldn’t possibly use it.”

“The statement that current infrastructure can handle the proposed population, EMG would add about 140 units to Exshaw. The current road system can handle those units.”

“We are looking forward to the results to several studies. That includes the recreation and community services programming facility plan, an employee review and the Matrix groundwater study.”

A 35-year-old man from Calgary was killed in a serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 1A, about four kilometres south of Canmore, on Sunday morning (Jan. 15).

“It is important to look at what our communities are asking from us and recreation has something all the hamlets have been looking to the MD for. This is a small way that we can support the recreation that the community associations have been working hard, volunteering many hours, to provide.”

“It is all volunteers going out and that is gratifying because with our information, we can see how many birds we get compared to previous years and what factors contributed to that.”
