COMMENTARY: Canadians are mounting pressure on politicians for change, and in the aftermath of the pandemic, every level of government wants to be seen acting to improve the health of its voters. We have the knowledge, the tools, and the collective will to make it happen. Now is the time for meaningful healthcare reform.

EDITORIAL: The news of Canmore General Hospital having to shutter its operating room on weekends because of a staffing shortage is the latest wrench tossed at the region’s and province’s beleaguered healthcare system.

“Development continues at a quick pace in the valley. We don’t want to lose those places and buildings that tell important stories and ground our community.”

“We have two locations that council will vote on potentially approving. This will set the stage for whether or not the MD might want to proceed with permanent washroom facilities.”

“Our climate is changing and if we are not ahead of it, then we are behind it. We need to make sure we are planning for the future and we have provisions in place to help reduce our impact on climate change and then to consider how different our climate might be in the Bow Valley.”

“It helps police, it helps AHS and foremost, it helps the client because they can get better treatment. If you’re in a city, you’ll have more resources but in a rural area they can be harder to get. It’s trying to bridge that gap.”
