Banff resident killed in rollover

A Banff resident has been killed in a motor vehicle accident on the highway this week. Banff RCMP reported that on Tuesday (Oct. 4) at 9 a.m. passing motorists reported a single vehicle rollover on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Banff RCMP reported that on Tuesday (Oct. 4) at 9 a.m. passing motorists reported a single vehicle rollover on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Emergency servicers attended the scene approximately 10 kilometres west of Banff but found the lone male driver deceased.

An investigation revealed the 26-year-old Maxime Gaudette lost control of the vehicle and drove off the highway rolling down the embankment passing through the game fence and striking a tree.

RCMP in a press release indicated the investigation has not determined the cause of the crash bit it is known to have occurred sometime after 10:45 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 3).
