The election could go either way in the swing riding, but environmental conservation, tourism, and healthcare – all key issues to the Bow Valley – are likely to divide votes in the selection of candidates.

“To our knowledge, this is the second human-caused wolf mortality in Yoho National Park in 2023,” said Suzanne White, a Parks Canada spokesperson for Lake Louise, Yoho and Kootenay.

“It is an in-kind setup to allow people to access books and they don’t have to go to the library to get them."

“Returning officers have been appointed, and we are in the process of recruiting and training nearly 20,000 Election officers to conduct voting in the 87 electoral divisions across the province.”

Election season has the money and promises flying left, right and centre in Alberta.

“We know how important it is to the Bow Valley, Lake Louise Ski Resort and to the province of Alberta, but there are, of course, things that need to be worked out logistically and financially.”

“The judge was very clear that he felt that this was a serious offence and the punishment that he provided backs that up,” said Paul Friesen, a Parks Canada warden supervisor for Lake Louise, Yoho and Kootenay.

“We have not done a good job of telling the story. You can look at so many different streams of the tourism eco-system that are independently understood but people don’t understand that rolls into a larger sector.”
