In the Banff-Airdrie constituency, Conservative Party incumbent Blake Richards is expected to face-off against at least five opponents, including David Gamble of the Liberal Party, Tariq Elnaga of the Maverick Party, Nadine Wellwood of the People's Party of Canada, Aidan Blum for the Green Party and Derek Sloan as an independent.

Firefighters are continuing to work at extinguishing a grassfire that began late-Friday afternoon near Dead Man's Flats and the Trans-Canada Highway.

The rejected Three Sisters Village area structure plan will head to a provincial appeal after Three Sisters Mountain Village Properties Limited filed its paperwork Monday (Aug. 9).
