LAC DES ARCS – A woman in her 60s was taken to hospital in life-threatening conditions after a car collision on the Trans-Canada Highway near Lac Des Arcs on Friday afternoon (Oct. 25).
Both STARS air ambulance and Alberta Health Services (AHS) emergency medical services (EMS) responded to the area about 20 kilometres east of Canmore, with STARS transporting the woman to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.
Adam Loria, a public education officer with AHS EMS, said paramedics responded at about 3:45 p.m.
“One adult in life-threatening condition was transported to the Foothills Medical Center via STARS,” he said in an email.
Blake Robert, a spokesperson for STARS, confirmed STARS took the woman from Canmore to Calgary.
