Canmore RCMP looking for suspect in recent thefts

CANMORE – RCMP are asking for the public's help identifying a man suspected of stealing from unlocked vehicles and garages in Canmore on Monday (June 10).

CANMORE – RCMP are asking for the public's help identifying a man suspected of stealing from unlocked vehicles and garages in Canmore on Monday (June 10).

According to press release, multiple reports of unlocked vehicles being entered and items stolen, as well as garages entered were received by local RCMP that morning. While investigating the thefts in the Pinewood Crescent and Railway Avenue area, an officer noticed a suspicious male nearby.

Once spotted, the man took off in a dark-coloured Chrysler 300. The officer pursued and attempted to stop the suspect, but failed and the called off the pursuit.

On Tuesday (June 11), a credit card reported stolen the day before was used at the Canmore 7-11, according to RCMP. The surveillance footage showed a man that matched the description of the suspect who fled from police the day before.
