The man suspected of murdering former Okotoks resident Jamie Lynn Scheible was arrested Friday.
According to a news release from Calgary Police Services, Gerald Russell Frommelt, 37, was arrested just before 4 p.m. on May 6 at a residence in the 1900 block of 24 Street SW.
Scheible, 23, went to Foothills Composite High School where she was a member of the cheerleading team.
Police identified Frommelt as a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest on April 12.
"After further investigation, we have determined that the victim and accused were recently in a relationship and we believe this to be a domestically-motivated homicide," Staff Sergeant Martin Schiavetta with the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit said at the time.
Anyone with information about Scheible’s death is asked to call CPS at 403-266-1234.
