A snowfall warning has been issued for the Lake Louise, Banff, Canmore and Kananaskis Country region.

Environment Canada says Banff, Canmore, the MD of Bighorn, Ghost Lake and K-Country area can expect 10 to 15 centimetres of snow throughout Monday, Oct. 21.

“Snow will begin early Monday morning and continue through the day,” states Environment Canada’s warning.

"The heaviest snow will fall over higher terrain. Snow will taper off Monday night.”

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations, states the warning.

“Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions,” it states.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
